Step pyramids. Height: 12 m. Date: 19th century (agricultural structures).
Piles of stones cleared from farmland. Excavations by the University of La Laguna (1991–1998) date them to the 19th century. Thor Heyerdahl instead saw ancient sun temples in them and compared them to structures in Mexico and Peru, a hypothesis rejected by archaeologists.
