Mound A (Poverty Point)

T-shaped earthen mound. Height: 22 m. Date: Ground preparation radiocarbon-dated between 1450 and 1250 BCE.
Interpreted as a bird effigy or as the cosmological center of the site. At 22 m tall on a base of about 215 by 200 m, it is not a true pyramid but a T-shaped mound, and the coordinates are those of the site.
